Furniture & Fittings FAQs

Why choose stainless steel?

Stainless steel is broadly used in the medical field for it’s high levels of cleanliness and corrosion resistance. It’s strength and durability means it can keep working well over time, even with a lot of use.

Compared with other materials, stainless steel is easy to clean and resists staining. Some say it even looks more sterile – and if you’re using a heating pad, the steel helps conduct heat for patient comfort.

What are some tips on choosing furniture & fittings?

Many of the MQ Vet team have worked in veterinary environments for years so understand the practicalities and demands of day-to-day clinic functioning. Before making decisions on furniture and fittings, consider their application – such as how and where they will be used. Evaluate your floor space, take measurements, and consider ergonomics. What’s your workflow like, and how do you and your team move between areas? Consider height, adjustability, safety, and ease of cleaning.

Fold-away options can save on space. Other practical considerations include what size animals your clinic tends to care for and how many at a time. Think about what’s important to you in terms of durability, mobility, visual consistency and price.
